Andy Klaus

Andrew Klaus is the son of Music U founder Kelly Klaus. Growing up in a musical house was no easy chore for Andrew. When first given the opportunity to learn how to play guitar he turned it down. A few years later Andrew asked to play drums and the rest is as they say "history". Andrew was a stubborn student in the fact that he refused any lessons from his father....who was a guitar player...instead he insisted upon having "private" lessons from a "real" drummer. Andrew excelled at the instrument and by High School he was intrigued by other instruments. His band director at Notre Dame Academy Mr. Bill Hill, started teaching Andrew piano and music theory. This was the fuel that started the musical fire in Andrew's soul. The Music "disease" spread, Andrew was hooked. He chose music as his career and attended McNally Smith College of music in St. Paul Mn. He studied percussion performance, but excelled in all of his none percussion classes. Andrew is an excellent piano player and guitar player, he also has vast knowledge of Music Theory. He has clearly become the best musician in the Klaus house. Andrew is currently playing drums for Northeast Wisconsin's favorite funk/swing/jam/rock/jazz/blues band "SHAKER & THE EGG" their first self-titled cd has been nominated for Best Album by WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) in 2013. Shaker was also nominated in 2012 for best new artist by WAMI.
